ACT (American College Test)

The ACT test is required by many midwestern colleges and universities.  UNO, UNL and UNK Regents Scholarships are awarded based upon ACT scores.

Students must register in advance with the ACT corporation.  Registration materials are available in the guidance office.  The ACT test fee includes score reports to four colleges or universities.  Additional reports require an additional fee. The appropriate check or money order must be sent with registration materials to ACT, Iowa City, Iowa, or a credit card number needs to be provided with an online registration.  Kearney High's high school code number is 281-230.  The ACT test now includes a writing portion, students can check on ACT's website to see whether or not the schools they are interested in attending require the writing portion.  The ACT test is given in Kearney every time the ACT is offered.
